List Server

List Server software provides electronic mailing lists that allow for widespread exchange of information by many e-mail users. These lists can be used for collaboration on various projects and as a way of distributing current news and other information to a specific group of people.

NERIC uses Mailman for its list server software.  Mailman manages electronic mail discussion and e-newsletter lists. Mailman is integrated with the web, making it easy for users to manage their accounts and for list owners to administer their lists. Mailman supports built-in archiving, automatic bounce processing, content filtering, digest delivery, spam filters, and more.

• Listowners can use the Mass Subscription feature of Membership Management to invite people to join their list.
